Rants and Ravings
The Commentary of David Osborne

It never fails; pick up the paper on any given day and take a look at all the trivial stuff people get themselves all worked up over, the silly scrapes they get themselves into, and then expect the government to bail them out. In the next breath, these same people will bitch about government interference in their lives.

Intrigued? Follow the below links to some of my "Rants" and take a peek around. Come back often; as long as there's silliness in the world I'll continue to expose and denounce it.

  • Hoaxes - Stop spreading this manure around the Net - My electronic inbox has gone through spasms, and it seems the Internet is again convulsing and spitting up these little gems. Some of them are new, and while I guess I could appreciate the originality of the authors, they are over-shadowed by the old, worn out hoaxes and chain letters. Let's take a cyber prybar and seem if we can't separate fact from Urban Legend.
  • Big Brother is Watching Us!. - Big brother may not only be watching you; soon he could be following you, tracking where you go, and when. Now I'm not one to subscribe to the "sky is falling" kind of stories that a lot of conspiracy theorists endorse.
  • Political correctness out of control - The age of political correctness is upon us, and all of us have had to mend our ways of thinking and acting. Things that were "okay" when I was a youngster are no longer acceptable. Frankly, I think it's a little too late. -1996
  • We wanted a Liar, we got one. - This column about Billy Clinton was published in the "The Daily Egyptian" on February 2, 1999, a few days before the Senate chickened out and voted "safe" vice voting their consciences.
  • What have you taught your child today? - It's good that we've come to care about our planet, improving the world we leave for our children and protecting our resources. Unfortunately, all too often the resource that needs the most care, attention and protection doesn't get all we should be giving, and that resource is right under our noses: our children.
